Detailed description

FORTEHUM L/K is an auxiliary herbal preparation - a solution of potassium humate produced by alkaline extraction of oxyhumolite (a special type of weathered brown coal). It contains 13 % wt. of biologically active humic substances; it contains biologically active humic and fulvic acids. By alkaline extraction in an aqueous medium, the humic and fulvic acids present in the feedstock were converted into solution. It is a brownish-black liquid with a characteristic odour. Due to its content of biologically active humic substances, the product has a beneficial complex effect on both plants and soil, thus helping to increase yields, quality of production and improve plant health. It does not replace basic fertilisation.

Effects of humic substances on plants:
They increase the intensity of plant respiration. They have a long-lasting effect on plant cells. They increase the chlorophyll content. They affect nutrient uptake and transport. They have a positive effect on the development of the plant root system.

The result is:
Increase in yield (according to the results of precision field trials by 5-10 %). Improvement in plant health. Increase in production quality. Savings in fertiliser.

Uses, crops, frequency:
The main use is in foliar applications by spraying or watering. It can be used for all field crops, vegetables, fruit trees, vines, hops, ornamentals and specialty crops. Applications at the earliest stages of plant development are most effective and three applications are recommended.

Dosage - agricultural use:
FORTEHUM L/K can be applied together with fertilisers and pesticides at a rate of 0.6 litres per hectare per application. Foliar application is the basic method of use. Repeated applications started in the early stages of growth are most effective. FORTEHUM L/K is applied at a rate of 0,5 to 1,0 litre/ha for each application. It can be used together with pesticides and foliar fertilisers with the usual amount of water for these applications.

Soaking and watering (agriculture):
Add 5 ml of FORTEHUM L/K to 10 l of water. Soak the seeds or seedling roots for at least 2 hours and then sow or plant. After sowing or planting, water the seedlings with FORTEHUM L/K (5 ml/10 l of water). Water repeatedly at intervals of 10 to 14 days during the growing season. All watering at a rate of 3 to 5 l/10 m².

Safety and toxicology:
FORTEHUM L/K is toxicologically safe for humans, does not harm the environment, does not endanger animals or beneficial insects. No withdrawal period is required after application. Due to the alkaline reaction, personal eye and skin protection equipment should be used.
Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed: rinse mouth with water and seek medical attention. In case of eye contact: Gently rinse with plenty of water for several minutes. Seek medical attention. In case of skin contact: Wash with plenty of water. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/goggles/face shield.

Technology and application development:
It was realized together with the manufacturer and distributor for the Czech Republic, Research Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, a. s., Ústí n. L. and Research Institute of Plant Production Prague-Ruzyně.

Preparation of the application solution (TANK MIX):
Potassium Humate is supplied as a liquid concentrate from which an application solution is prepared in the sprayer tank. The application solution can also be prepared in stock. Fill the tank about 1/3 full with water and gradually add liquid fertiliser and plant protection products as the tank is filled. Add potassium humate before finishing filling the tank (it is 3/4 full). The use of water with a calcium content of more than 150 mg l-¹ results in the formation of significant flakes which can clog the sprayer screens. Do the same when using concentrated liquid nitrogen fertilisers (DAM 390, Agrosam, Unifert, etc.) instead of water. Before adding potassium humate to the fertiliser, dilute it with water in the ratio humate : water = 1 : 1.

Methodology of foliar application - field crops:
HK is applied during the growing season to the leaves. It is used as an aqueous solution together with fertilizers and pesticides. Fertilizers and pesticides at the concentration (dose) recommended by the manufacturer. When applied together, the pH of the solution must not fall below pH 5,5. Prior to joint application, carry out a test for miscibility at the application concentrations. If precipitate formation occurs, joint application is not possible. Potassium humate can be used with most known fertilisers and pesticides. The rate of liquid concentrate of potassium humate in one application is 0,6 l/ha.
Oilseed rape, winter wheat, winter barley, winter rye, triticale - autumn: 1. postemergent application, together with herbicides, growth regulators (overwintering) and fungicides; a second application is possible if conditions permit.
Spring: 1. application at the regeneration fertilisation date together with fertilisers or with herbicides and fungicides; 2. application at the first production date together with fertilisers or with herbicides, growth regulators and fungicides; 3. application and others always at the entry into the stand together with fertilisers and pesticides.
Spring barley, spring wheat: 1. application from the 2nd leaf stage, together with herbicides; 2. application at the tillering stage, together with pesticides, fertilisers; 3. post-emergence application even later, together with fungicides and fertilisers.
Poppy: 1. application from the 4-leaf stage, together with herbicides; 2. application at any time, together with insecticides and fertilizers.
Potatoes: 1. application at the beginning of elongation growth, height approx. 15 cm, together with fungicides and fertilisers; 2. and other possible applications from bud formation to the beginning of vegetation termination, together with fungicides, insecticides and fertilisers.
Diabetes: 1. application at the stage of 2 true leaves of rape, together with the last herbicide application; 2. and other possible applications together with fungicides, insecticides and fertilisers, always when spraying the crop.
Corn: always apply when entering a crop with pesticides or fertilisers.

Using potassium humate in the garden - preparation and methods:
FORTEHUM L/K can be used on all types of vegetables, fruit and ornamental plants and vines.
Applied during vegetation as an aqueous solution together with fertilisers and pesticides; fertilisers and pesticides at the rate recommended by the manufacturer; when applied together, the pH of the solution must not fall below 5,5; mixability test beforehand. Significant flake formation occurs in water with a calcium content greater than 150 mg l-¹.
Preparation of the solution: Dilute 6 ml of the supplied concentrate in 10 l of water (equivalent to 0.6 l in 1000 l of water). Due to the viscosity, it is advisable to dilute the solution with water 1:1 for measuring small quantities and then double the dosage.
Methods of use:

  1. Pre-growing vegetable and flower seedlings: water with humate solution immediately after sowing; repeat weekly until seedlings are planted.
  2. Sowing and planting in loose soil or substrate:
    a) Soaking the roots - plants take better, can be mixed with other products; soak bare-root seedlings for a few hours, drain and plant out.
    b) Watering after sowing and planting - alleviation of transplanting shock, higher germination energy: watering with humate solution all over after sowing vegetable, flower and lawn seeds; all over and in the trays of vegetable seedlings, fruit and ornamental trees and flowers; Apply the watering water at 5 l/m².
    c) Watering during vegetation - repeatedly every 10-14 days throughout the growing season of the crop to be watered; for all types of vegetables, flowers and fruit and ornamental trees; suitable for all irrigation methods; Apply 2-3 l/m² of watering water; joint application of humate and fertiliser improves nutrient uptake by the plant.
  3. Spraying with backpack sprayers: when using plant protection products, foliar fertilisers can also be added to vegetables, fruit trees and vines and sprayed together with humate. When filling the sprayer, first fill it 1/3 full with water, then pour in a measured amount of plant protection product and fertiliser and fill it half full with water. Then add humate and refill with water.

Storage, packaging, shelf life:
Store FORTEHUM L/K in dry, ventilated warehouses, separately from food and feed. Storage is possible in all types of storage tanks for liquid fertilizers, which are also suitable for irritants. When the temperature drops below -7 °C FORTEHUM L/K solidifies, when the temperature rises above freezing point it gradually goes into solution spontaneously, with no reduction in efficiency. To ensure homogeneity, the product must be mixed before use. Packaging capacity: 25 l, 1000 l and according to the tanker consignment note. Shelf life: 5 years from the date of manufacture.
